What limitations is Guiness placing on the World Record Knitting Attempt e.g. type of needles, yarn pattern etc. I knit socks with 2 circs – is that acceptable?

WE ARE GENERATING INTEREST FROM CLIENTS WHO WANT TO CROCHET/KNIT/SEW AND COME FROM LOW INCOME FAMILES AND DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO BUY SUPPLIES. We are starting a charity with a group of ladies in a retirement center that will be knitting and crocheting items for children in hospitals as well as homeless shelters. I am trying to find a way to get donated yarn. Any info anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for donations of free wool yarn. My soon to be son-in-law Pfc. Alan Newton was killed in Afghanistan on Oct. 2. I promised him that I would make helmet liners for him and his comrads. I will keep my promise and knit them and send them over in his honor. As wool can be expensive any amount donated would be helpful. Each helmet liner uses 175yds. of yarn. Thank you so much.
