Anoucing Streetknit’s 2014 Handmade Toy Drive

Calling all crafters – and I do mean all!

If you knit, crochet, sew, felt, whatever , then Streetknit wants you!

We are officially kicking off the Streetknit 2014 Handmade Toy Drive. For the next ten months (until the end of November 2014), drop off your handmade toy at any of the Streetknit drop off locations (handily listed at the right side of the page). Streetknit will collect them all and will take them to the Scott Mission.  Check back here or on twitter (@Streetknit) or our Facebook page for more information and events.

Here are a few (knitted, because after all that’s what we do here) patterns to get you started!

Remember this is a drive for new, handmade, toys only.  If you want to donate store bought toys, please look out for any of the other Christmas Toy Drives that happen in an around Toronto every year!

Of course, as usual, we are still collecting any new hand knit items to help keep people warm.  It’s been a long cold winter here in Toronto and all those hats and scarves and mitts and socks and sweaters and blankets have all been put to good use.  Please keep them coming!

Last year we passed on nearly 2000 items to various groups across the city.  Thanks to each and every one of you for helping make Streetknit such a success!
